I can’t remember what prompted me to buy this particular book. I think it was because I saw that it had a lot of reviews on Amazon or something. Whatever the case, I can say that this book has truly added value to my life. I can’t and don’t say that about many books. But this one that definitely has. It is a book that I have read cover to cover numerous times and every time I feel like I am pulling more lessons and learnings away from it.
The book is written by Peter Voogd. I honestly do not know much about Peter. His book, however, is amazing.
This book will change your mindset and perception about money, time, business, and yourself. It will prompt you to move from where you are today and to take action to get to where you want to be in life.
Some of my favorite quotes and take away from the book are below.
- “YOU must take action” – Action is what separates the haves from the have nots. If you want to be financially independent and to live the life you want to live, you must act.

- You get paid for having the courage to think differently and take risk – We all have a choice. We can do what everyone is or has done and work a 9 to 5 job or we can do what the few do. The few are those that become entrepreneurs, take an accelerated approach to their savings, and are those who are not afraid to do something different and new.

- “Either you work for money or money works for you” – This is a notion that has been espoused again and again. But it still rings true and is helped shift my perspective and it may help shift yours as well.

- “Your life is formed by the perspectives and philosophies you adopt, and chasing your perspective can create an immediate shift in your life and business.” – Perspective and how you choose to live your life is half the battle. Changing you choose to view the world and life can have an immediate impact on your life and finances. This is where it starts.

- “‘You get paid for bringing value to the marketplace’” – This is the bottom line. What value or skills are you bringing to the marketplace? This is what every business revolves around. Companies pay for particular jobs and you pay for particular goods or services because there is value there. To increase how much money you are generating, you have to increase the value that you bring to the marketplace. This may be obtaining a particular certification or education. It may also be developing and introducing a product or service for people to buy. Either way if you want to be successful you have to figure out how you can go about adding more value.

- You need to work on yourself – If you are not bettering yourself, you cannot better your place in life. We must all strive to be better than what were were the day before, and that is the goal. If you are comfortable with your life and where you are today, by all means don’t change. But if you want more, if you are you are hungry, and want to become better, and want a better life, then the work starts with improving yourself.

- Be deliberate about what you study and put into your mind – Do not be idle. Be intentional. Do things with a purpose and always have at the forefront of your mind, is this the most valuable thing that I could be doing right now.

- Commit to consistency – Do not falter. Too many of us start to do things and begin down a path towards financial freedom and stray. Something comes up or we let other things take priority, and soon enough we forget about what we were doing and put it on the back burner. Don’t be that person. Take action, start it, and commit to doing it.

- The proof is in the results – How do you know the changes and actions that you are taking are making a difference? Look no further than the results. If your goal is to be financially free, ask yourself does my 401k or savings account show it. If your goal is to be healthy and fit, ask yourself does your body show it. Look at whether you are making any progress towards your end goal as proof of whether you are making progress or not.

- Keep your goals top of mind – Strive to establish goals. You should have yearly goals, 90 day goals, and monthly goals that you are striving for. You should also have goals farther in the future than that build off of whatever your end goals are.

- Have confidence – The reason some succeed and others don’t is usually not because of ability or aptitude. It is because someone else took the risk and put in the work to figure things out. The reason they were able to do this and others weren’t is because they had the confidence in themselves that they could do it. I’ve struggled with this in the past and I am sure you probably do too. But you have to have confidence in yourself and believe that you can do it. Do not let fear prevent you from achieving your goals and living the life that you want to live. Conquer it.

- Just do it – Most people start from a place of feeling and do things because they feel like doing them. Flip the script. Do what you have set out to do regardless of how you feel. Don’t go to the gym or do cold calls when you feel like it. Make the decision, do it, and let your feelings come in later. When you start by doing, you will accomplish a lot more and you will build your confidence and succeed.

- Create routines – Habits shape us. To really transform your life you need to change your habits and institute new routines into your life. You should have rituals and routines that related to your mindset, health, business, finances, and relationships. Review what you are doing today and start anew tomorrow.

Peter’s books if filled with a number of learnings, thoughts, and takeaways. Above are some of the key ones that I took away that I wanted to share. I highly recommend Peter’s book. There is a lot of wisdom and advice there for everyone.
